According to Turkish media outlet fotomac, the former PSG and Lyon coach is pushing to lure Waris back to the Super Lig either on an outright purchase or via a loan deal.

Waris, currently on the books of Lorient who got relegated from the Ligue 1, moved to France after a failed stint with Trabzonspor during the 2014/15 season.

“We called his manager. We want to either buy or hire him,” Bursaspor President Ali Ay is quoted as saying.

The 25-year-old was bought by Lorient for a little more than £4 million  two years ago.

Majeed Waris scored nine goals and made four assists in 35 games last season.
