Golden Arms close to dream debut at African Championship
The national arm wrestling team, the Golden Arms, have inched a step closer to realising their dream of making their first appearance at the African Armwrestling Championship after receiving cash and products worth GH¢ 8,000 from local beverage company, TT Brothers.

The Ghana Arm Wrestling Federation (GAF) is in a race with time to raise funds to finance a 15-member Golden Arms contingent for the championship scheduled for June 28-July 5 in Lagos, Nigeria.
According to the President of the GAF, Charles Osei Asibey, his outfit is yet to decide whether the trip would be by air or by road but would ensure that the timely boost by TT Brothers is put to good use.
He stressed that the GAF was determined not to rely on National Sports Authority for support, hence their desire for such partnerships with corporate bodies.
Presenting 30 cartons of Uncle T-malt and an undisclosed amount to the team, the Sales and Marketing Manager of TT Brothers, Nicholas Nii Addo, said his outfit was committed to supporting national sports teams who represent the country internationally.
He also charged the Black Arms to win laurels at the 16-nation tourney, their success he said would boost the profile of the sport in the country.
The Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Robert Sarfo Mensah, expressed gratitude to TT Brothers, describing the company’s involvement in sports as a laudable example of partnership between government and private companies that his outfit encourages.
The African Armwrestling Championship serves as a qualification tournament for the World Arm Wrestling Championship.
