Bechem vow to add to Hearts woes

Bechem United skipper, Asante Agyemang, has downplayed the absence of striker Abednego Tetteh’s influence on their team and insists it will not affect their chances against Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

Tetteh, who now plays for Sudanese side, Al Hilal, scored a hat-trick in Bechem’s 3-1 win over Hearts side at Bechem last season, but the Bechem captain is convinced they have other quality stars to crush the  the Phobians at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

Asante admitted to the Graphic Sports yesterday that the game was going to be a difficult one but he was in no doubt they would triumph.

“Everybody knows this is going to be a big game and we are mentally and psychologically prepared for it and we are ready to beat Hearts 2-0,” he bragged.

Bechem are languishing at the 10th position on the league log but theit skipper believes it is not atrue reflection of their performace this season, insisting their impressive run during the first round of the league should have put them among the top three.

Nonetheless, he was hopeful they would claim the maximum points from Sunday’s game to propel them up the log.

Victory, according to the captain, could be achieved with some of their talentd players, including striker Ahmed Toure, who is in top scoring form and ready to deflate the ego of Hearts.

Bechem’s determination to replicate last season’s feat means the Hearts’ manager, Frank Nuttal, must work extra hard to keep the pressure on the home side to avoid another embarrassing moment, after they were denied the President’s Cup by the Porcupine Warriors last Sunday.

There will also be massive pressure on Nasco Coach of the Month, Charles Akonnor, as Ashgold seek to extend their winning run against high-flying WAFA at the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi where the Soccer Miners have won their last three matches.

Elsewhere, rejuenated Kumasi Asante Kotoko will host Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium, while Aduana Stars travel to the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman to face Liberty Professionals.

Elmina Sharks will hope to overcome bottom club Bolga All Stars at the  Nduom Stadim as they fight to escape the relegation zone. Likewise, struggling Accra Great Olympics who welcome Wa All Stars to the Accra Sports Stadium.

Tema Youth will entertain Ebusua Dwarfs at the Tema Stadium, and at the Golden City Park, Berekum Chelsea will host Inter Allies.
