Bechem coach already dreaming about Africa

Expatriate coach, Manuel Zacharius is already dreaming about Africa ahead of their MTN/FA Cup grand final against Division One League side, Okwawu United on September 4.

According to him, he has already held discussions with his employers in a bid to beef up their squad for a successful CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Coach Zacharias, is indeed, hoping to slice a piece of the country’s football history as he leads his charges to their maiden MTN FA Cup final against Okwawu United.

A confident Zacharias told the Graphic Sports last Tuesday he would be the first coach to win a trophy for Bechem United just three months after taking charge of the club.

“For me the FA Cup competition is important and winning it would be historic for this club. I am trying my best to finish the League in a good position but for the FA Cup everything I want is to win and I believe we can do it” he stated.

While admitting the task was going to be difficult, Zacharias said he would approach the game with a different strategy disclosing that his boys were more motivated for the Cup.

The coach said in his three months in charge as the manager of the Bechem side he had worked hard to transform Bechem and he believed he could make history with the Brong Ahafo Region side.

Meanwhile, Bechem United skipper, Issah Adamu says the club is financially ready to represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup if they beat Okwawu in the final of the MTN/FA Cup.

“Even before we played against WA Rockets he had promised us he is willing to put his all into the club to enable us to participate in Africa so I don’t know why people are saying we cannot afford to compete at that level”, he wondered.
