Coach Attram says the young striker’s omission from the final three shortlist must be a motivational factor in his young career.

Ayiah was overlooked by CAF in its final shortlist as it settled on Krepin Diata of Senegal, Zambian's Patson Daka and Salam Giddou of Mali as the final three for that category.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports on the sidelines of Aiteo CAF Awards nominees unveiling in Accra, Attram said: "It must be a motivational factor in his career because these things happen in life".

"He must not feel let down by this omission but rather work tirelessly for the benefit of his future."

After a stellar year with the Starlets which saw him lead the team to a runners-up finish in Africa, Ayiah was tipped to be nominated among the final three of the Youth Player of the Year category,

However, Coach Attram noted that the final nomination involved deserving players who excelled throughout the year.

He said that would be one of the categories to watch on the awards night in Accra on January 4.

"I think the final three nominations are fair, looking at their performances throughout the year," he said.
