Atinga happy with Stars B call-up

Accra Hearts of Oak central defender, Vincent Atinga, says he is excited about his invitation to the Black Stars B camp to help prepare for Burkina Faso in the second leg of the 2018 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

"I was not bothered about the late call-up because there are many players in Ghana who are equally good but they are not here so I am even fortunate to be here.

“I believe in the essence of time and I know that with time everything will fall in the right place", he told the Daily Graphic yesterday.

For Atinga, the opportunity to wear the national colours and serve one's country is no mean achievement and hopes to work hard to impress the technical handlers of the team.

“I am here to give a good account of myself to be selected not only for the CHAN qualifiers but also for the WAFU tournament," he added.

Atinga, 23, has put up a remarkable performance for Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League so far this season, and remarkably, as a defender, scored six goals after featuring in all 24 matches .

Last May, the native of Bolga in the Upper East Region was named the FERO Mobile Player of the Month by his club to motivate him for his eceptional performance in the month under review.

His call-up to the Black Stars B camp brings the number of Hearts of Oak players to four after Thomas Abbey, Patrick Razak and Winful Cobbinah.
