Asamoah Gyan scores brace in Al Ahli's 3-2 win over Al Shabab (VIDEO)

The captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan yesterday scored a brace to send Al Ahli into Round 4 of the Arabian Gulf Cup at the expense of Al Shabab.

Gyan scored the winning-goal in a 3-2 victory for A Ahli late-on when he powered in a towering header from a corner.

Brazilian Henrique Luvannor gave Al Shabab the lead through a fourth-minute penalty before Al Ahli skipper, Rodrigo Lima drew them level with a spot kick in the 17th minute.

Gyan gave Cosmin Olaroiu’s side the lead when playmaker Everton Ribeiro found him with a pass.

Luvannor netted his second for Al Shabab just past the hour mark. 

When it looked like the game was heading for a draw, Gyan rose above the opposition defence to head in a corner for his team to return with all three points.
