Afriyie, Assenso head LOC for WAFU tourney

Ghana Football Association (GFA) vice-president, Mr George Afriyie, and Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Mr Francis Assenso, have been appointed as co-chairmen of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2017 West Africa Football Union (WAFU) tournament to be hosted by Ghana.

The GFA last Monday announced the full membership of the LOC which includes a former chairman of the FA, Alhaji M. N. D.  Jawula, a former FA vice-president, Mr Fred Crentsil, and Premier League Board Chairman, Mr Ashford Tettey-Oku. 

Other members of the 13-member committee include Messrs Akwasi Agyeman, Michael Baafi (Free Zones Board),  Osei Tutu Agyeman (RFA Chairman, Ashanti), Fred Acheampong, Albert Commey (CEO, Aduana Stars, Kwame Takyi (Director General, Ghana Immigration Service) and a representative of the Minister of Youth and Sports.
