Aduana will take Africa by storm — Dormaahene

The bankroller of Aduana Stars, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, has assured the people of Dormaa-Ahenkro and Ghanaians that his club will take Africa by storm in next year’s CAF Champions League.

The Dormaahene gave an assurance last Sunday when he hosted the media at his palace in Dormaa-Ahenkro a few minutes after the grand coronation of the club as the new Premier League champions.

“The last time we went to Africa we were eliminated early by WAC of Morocco because we had just been promoted to the premiership and we won the league so that was a warm-up for us.”

“I am not God, but I am assuring Ghanaians that this time round the story will be different”, he said confidently.

Touching on Aduana Stars’ preparation for the continental assignment, the revered king said plans were far advanced to give the Nana Agyemang Badu Park a facelift to meet the standard required by CAF.

“I have made provision for 1,000 bags of cement and iron rods worth GH¢46,000 for the renovation of the park which will accommodate 5,000 fans and we are looking forward to building a doping centre and a scoreboard, among others,”he stated

Commenting on the allegations of match-fixing, bribery and corruption in the league, Osagyefo Agyemang Badu stated that no referee could win a match or a league for any club, saying it would take quality players to ensure victory.

“Referees cannot cheat one club for another to win the league. If you have quality players you can win it and we have Joseph Addo, Godfred Saka, Daniel Darkwah and Emmanuel Akuoku.

The way we are going about this issue makes it look like all Ghanaian referees are incompetent. Can we watch a match for 90 minutes without an incident”? he questioned.

He, therefore, urged Ghanaians to desist from tarnishing the image of the local league, as well as that of the referees.

Osagyefo Agyeman Badu also called on the chiefs and people of Dormaa-Ahenkro to give him the necessary support to succeed in his endeavours.

Aduana Stars secured the ticket to represent Ghana at the continental level after winning the just-ended 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League title for the second time in seven years.
