According to Coach Abubakar, he intends to build a solid team that would compete effectively in the Champions League as they make a return to Africa for the second time, as well as defend the Ghana Premier League title next season

“I want to build an all round team for a successful participation in the CAF Champions League and also for the league next season.

My aim is to make the greatest impact in the competition so we are going to work harder than we did this season,” Coach Abubakar told the Graphic Sports in an exclusive interview just before Aduana’s coronation yesterday.

“We have spotted some very good players both in and outside Ghana and we are in talks with Osagyefo himself because he is the bankroller of the club.

We will not recruit many players but we will go in for the very best to beef up the team.``

Although he was reluctant to mention names, the experienced trainer also hinted that he was in talks with administrators of the club to renew contracts of players whose contracts expired at the end of the season.

“I want new talents but I am not ready to let any of my boys go out of the team.

I'll give everyone opportunity to play in Africa and I know they will deliver so I am working on getting those whose contracts have ended to have them renewed,” he said.

Coach Abubakar attributed his te“We learnt our lessons from the previous season where we missed out narrowly and we built on our positives. Also, unity in the team, consistency on the part of management and enough motivation from top hierarchy won the league for Aduana.”

Coach Abubakar, who has worked with several local clubs, including the defunct Swedru All Blacks, King Faisal, Berekum Chelsea, Accra Hearts of Oak, Medeama SC, Heart of Lions and Techiman City joined Aduana Stars last November after Romanian Ciaoba Aristica left when his contract expired.

He has won two trophies for the Dormaa-based club-the G6 and the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League titles and he is hoping to win more laurels.
