Achimota School to host Mfantsipim, Adisco in cricket competition
A triangular cricket tournament involving three second-cycle schools will be staged at the Achimota Cricket Oval on December 3.

The schools, which are Adisadel College (Adisco), Mfantsipim (Kwabotwe) and Achimota School (Motown), will engage in a T-20 league competition for trophies and prizes donated by Nsoroma GPS LTD.
The event was initiated by the Adisadel College Cricket Club in collaboration with the Central Regional Cricket Association and supported by the Ghana Cricket Association(GCA).
The GCA Administrative Secretary, Bernard Essuman, told the Graphic Sports that the restoration of school triangular cricket competitions is a major milestone for cricket development in Ghana.
He said cricket is now one of the fastest growing sports in Ghana especially as the Achimota Cricket Oval in Accra regularly hosts Achimota School vrs Kings and Queens college international cricket competitions.
There is also local Cape Coast cricket derby between Mfantsipim and Adisadel College which has now become calendar events” he stated.
The national U19 cricket coach, Francis Bakiweyem, also said such events were vital for the identification of potential and future cricket talents for the national team.
