Accra Technical University honours sports personalities

Basketball star Abdul Mutalib Alhassan and multi-sport athlete Rabiatu Ofoli scooped the topmost sports personality awards in the respective male and female categories at the third edition of the Accra Technical University (ATU) Sports Awards held last Friday in Accra.

The awards were in recognition of the roles played the duo over the 2016-2017 Technical University sports calendar as they led the ATU to the first place at the 11th edition of the Ghana Polytechnic and Technical Universities Sports Association (GHAPSA) games held at Bolgatanga.

ATU, on the back of exemplary leadership by Alhassan and Ofoli, won twelve gold medals; three (3) silver medals and seven (7) bronze medals to top the medal table with 22 medals in total.

Ofoli, a Level 100 student of the University, put her versatility of display during that competition winning medals in table tennis, badminton and other disciplines while Alhassan captained the all-conquering basketball team who also placed third at this year's UPAC Basketball Championship.
