At the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium, the  Keyss Memorial chess tourney took place with over 20 chess enthusiasts participating in the event.

The tournament was played in memory the late Wilheim Hoogendijk, alias Kess, who was a one-time national chess star and developed the sport in the country.

Also at the tennis courts of the Accra Sports Stadium, a two-day volleyball play-off competition was ongoing. The event, which comprised teams from the Greater Accra and Western Region, was being held to select the best talents for the national team.

Finally, at the Accra Polo grounds, a resurgent Team Ghana whitewashed Uganda 71/2 to 3 in an international friendly.
