Mary Prempeh and Theo Asampong played an impressive 18-holes to win the flagship Group A titles of the Celebrity Golf Club Captain’s Prize Championship held last Saturday at Sakumono, near Tema.
Mary, playing with a handicap of 13, netted a total score of 67 to win the Ladies Group A event, while Asampong, with handicap 14, returned a net score of 70 to win the Men's Group A trophy on countback. Both winners were presented with return flight tickets, courtesy Kenyan Airways.
Janet Stordeur placed second in the Ladies’ Group A, pipping Vivian Dicke on countback after they both returned net scores of 71.
The second and third places in the Men’s Group A contest went to Tang Bin (70 net) and Tang Hong (72 net) respectively.
In the Ladies’ Group B event, Joyce Aronsen returned 68 net to finish ahead of Maureen Akuaku (69 net) and Naomi Addo (70) who placed second and third respectively.
Reverend A. Mensah (68 net) clinched the first position ahead of Japhet Achola (69 net) and Gokeh Sekyim (70 net) in the Men's Group B event.
The Longest Drive honours were claimed by Mercy Werner and Komla Adzei, while Theo Asampong and the evergreen Mona Myers-Lamptey went home with the closest to the Pin awards.
