The competition, sponsored by the TEN Partners — the group of partner companies engaged in the second commercial production of oil in the region — brought together teams from the communities in the Shama District, namely Shama British, Shama Newcastle and Anlo Community Beach to compete for a trophy.

At the end of the tough matches, Shama British defeated Anlo Community Beach team 2-1 to emerge winners.  Nana Wurapa II, the acting Paramount Chief of Shama Traditional Council, presented the trophy to the winners.

An  all-female beach volleyball competition later climaxed the event, with teams from the Shama District entertaining the fans, including the Shama District Chief Executive, Eric Cobbina, traditional leaders, and other dignitaries.

The acting Queen Mother of the Shama Traditional Council, Nana Akosua Gyamfiaba II, who inaugurated the regional team, advised the youth to be disciplined and work hard to win laurels for the region.
