Tom Strand takes over as Oly Coach

Ghana Premier League club Accra Great Olympics have appointed Tom Strand to succeed Godwin Attram as the new Head Coach of the club with immediate effect.

Strand, according to the club, will be assisted by former coach Attram and Stephen Botchway.

Coach Strand’s appointment was effected by the club’s shareholders as part of a five-point Rescue Plan proposed by the Global Village Group, following the poor performance of the team in the top flight.

In a statement issued by Olympics yesterday, the team said, “The formal acceptance of the plan brings to the fore some very key and new directions expected to bring significant transformation to the team’s overall performance in the GPL”. 

“Swedish Coach Tom Strand has been confirmed with immediate effect as the new Head Coach of Accra Great Olympics, and will be officially outdoored at the team’s camp later today,” it continued.

The statement also noted that the club was keen on acquiring a top quality striker and a midfielder through a justifier.
