Starlets sure to beat Cameroun
The national U-17 team, the Black Starlets, will begin their quest to conquer Africa again tomorrow when they engage Cameroun in the opening Group A match of the Africa U-17 Championship at the

Stade de Franceville in Gabon.
The Starlets will have the opportunity to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup by qualifying to the semifinals of the tournament.
That is the primary target of Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin and he is organising his troops to achieve that feat. Cameroun, on the other hand, will focus on avoiding elimination at the group stage just like their
last outing two years ago in Niger, hence the need for the Ghanaians to be on their guard.
Perhaps, this will be a fine opportunity for the present generation of the Starlets to pay Cameroun back for denying Ghana the chance to appear at the previous championship following a protest against
age-cheating.
With a tough group, including host Gabon and Guinea who will open the tournament tomorrow, Ghana need to take their chances if they are to advance in the tournament.
In Group B, defending champions, Mali, will lock horns with Tanzania, while Angola face Niger at the Stade de Port-Gentil on
Monday.
The four semi-finalists will qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in India inSeptember.
