Ashgold coach Bashir Hayford has tendered in a colourful resignation letter truncating his spell at the club two days before they engage Bolga All Stars in the Ghana Premier League.

Hayford in the letter takes shots at his previous employers and signs off with; "Gone but not missing".

He described his exit from Ashgold who have managed a paltry seven points from eight games this season as a "necessary evil". 

The Miners are yet to react to his resignation letter.

This is the day the lord has made for me to hand over the technical baton of AshantiGold Sporting Club to another person to steer the technical affairs of the club. My best has not been enough for the club and the best honorable thing is to resign honorably without any prejudice.

Necessary evils are sometimes committed in other to put things right. I thank management although it might be a bitter pill to some, o sincerely apologize for that. The opportunity given me to win Five more trophies including the league trophy for Nineteen (19) years is well appreciated.

It does not take the frog too long a time to jump out from boiling water. Thank you very much.

I wish the team all the best because the future is very bright for these Nineteen (19) new players brought together two weeks to the start of the league.

Gone but not missing.
