The first batch of the contingent, made up of all 21 players, the head coach and two other officials, made the trip, with the rest expected to fly out this morning.

This will be the Queens' 11th appearance at the tournament which they are yet to win, however, Coach Yusif Basigi insists winning their first continental title remains their grand target for the November 19 - December 4, competition.

"Our aim will be to qualify from the group stages first, then win the title first time when we get to the final," Basigi told the Daily Graphic.

Though the team didn't get the benefit of playing any international friendly,  they are nonetheless optimistic about their changes, saying they are inspired by their gold medal-winning feat at the 2015 All Africa Games to achieve similar success in Cameroun.
