‘New Edubiase will survive Premier League’

After ditching Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Nana Gyamfi Park last week, bottom club New Edubiase United believe the victory will galvanised them to win their remaining home matches in addition to some away matches in a determined bid to escape relegation.

The Bekwai club are languishing at the bottom of the Premier League log, but with eight matches to go the club’s president, Abdul-Salam Yakubu, remains positive they can amass enough points to survive the elite division, particularly at a time when a new stadium is being built at their home district.

“New Edubiase will survive this year. We have to play in the Premier League next particularly because of  on the stadium being constructed at New Edubiase.

Residents of New Edubiase are itching to watch the Premier League next year, so being caught in the relegation net will be a huge disappointment for the entire community,“said a confident Alhaji Yakubu in an interview with the Graphic Sports.

“Our victory over Kotoko has now changed our game plan and boosted our confidence so much that no team can now stand  in our way.”

The New Edubiase chief indicated that defending champions Ashantigold would be their next victims when  the two sides clash at the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi on Sunday before launching a crusade to dismantle WAFA at Bekwai the following week.

“We are poised to beat both Ashgold and WAFA in our next two matches to maximise our points build-up before turning our attention to other opponents on their home grounds.

“It is not going to be easy, but nothing is impossible. Both the players and technical team are fired up to go all out against our opponents in the remaining matches and nothing will stop us,” promised Mr Yakubu, who indicated that the addition of players such as Bismark Idan, Wahab Abdul, Latif Yamin and Frank Adjie has strengthened the team to embark on their crusade for survival.
