Things are getting pretty hot in the National Women’s League (NWL) and there certainly will be no slowing down when the Match Day Four fixtures are honoured this weekend.
The fixtures have some intriguing match-ups: derbies, repeat or revenge agenda, and no doubt the match likely to attract the most attention will be Lepo Ladies versus the Northern Ladies encounter at the BATCO park.
These two sides are rivals in Tamale and their rivalry is comparable to the one between Olympics and Hearts of Oak.
Ahead of the game, both sides are waxing confidence of winning the game, but for the organisers, the focus will not be on just the outcome of the game, but also how fans of both sides comport themselves, given that they have time past, created too much tension.
Ampem Darkoa hosting Prisons Ladies could also pass for a topliner, but at the moment, it looks like it will be the hosts’ game at their Ohene Ameyaw home as Prisons Ladies are yet to discover their form so far this season, lying bottom on the northern zone log, with Ampem Darkoa on top.
In other games, Kumasi Sports Academy will engage Fabulous Ladies in a regional derby while Real Upper Ladies hope they can exact an amount of revenge from Ashtown when they visit at the Wa SHS Park.
Things won’t be any easier for teams competing in the southern zone: Holy Royals will host Lady Strikers, Elmina Sea Lions are hosts to Police Ladies, Immigration Ladies will welcome Hasaacas Ladies with Soccer Intellectuals playing Samaiia.
