Liberty escape relegation

Liberty Professionals wonder kid, Latif Blessing, yesterday inspired  his side to escape relegation after he scored a hat-trick to  hand Bechem United  a 3-1 defeat at the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman.

It was Latif’s second hat-trick of the season which also rewarded him with this year’s Goal King title with 17 goals.

It took just 18 minutes for Latif to break the deadlock and, in the 29th minute, the Liberty Professionals striker increased the tally before recess.

Liberty Professionals looked the aggressors in the second half but it was  Bechem United’s  top scorer, Abednego Tetteh, who  missed opportunities, who finally reduced the tally when he surged into the Liberty box to fire to the blind side of goalkeeper Eric Andoh in post for Liberty.

In the 83rd minute, Nelson who had been ruthless at the rear of Bechem,   brought down Latif in the penalty box for referee Joseph Lamptey to award a penalty to the homesters which Latif converted for the third goal.
