Hearts, Aduana in epic G6 final tomorrow

Former Africa champions, Accra Hearts of Oak and 2011 league winners, Aduana Stars, battle tomorrow at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi  in the grand final of the 2016 GHALCA G6 tournament for the ultimate GH¢50,000 prize money and the giant trophy at stake.

While the Dormaa-based club recorded wins against Hearts (1-0), Medeama (2-0) and Bechem United (1-0) to reach the final, the Phobians best feat in the tournament was their 6-5 win on penalties over arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium after  losing 0-1 to Aduana Stars and subsequently drawing 1-1 with Medeama SC .

Indeed, an exciting and keenly contested game is anticipated as expectations are high among fans of the two teams and already, the usual arguments are raging ahead of tomorrow’s clash.But the question is whether  Aduana can maintain their hold on the Phobians.

Coach Henry Wellington (Hearts) and Yusif Abubakar (Aduana), who both took over their respective teams few days before the commencement of the tournament, have both vowed to win the trophy for their respective clubs to inspire confidence among their fans.

Indeed, a confident Coach Wellington yesterday declared that the Phobians would not return to Accra without the trophy which he considers  a big boost ahead of the start of the league season.

The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko trainer is expected to line up players such as of Mustapha Essuman, Cosmos Dauda, Patrick Razak, Samuel Akurugu, Paul Aquah, Isaac Mensah, Samudeen Ibrahim, Vincent Atinga and Malik Akowuah to lead the assault.

On the other hand, Coach  Abubakar has in his fold Bright Adjei, Godfred Saka, Sampson Boampong and Elvis Opoku to seal victory for Aduana Stars.
