Hasaacas fate depends on Techiman game - Yusif Basigi

Sekondi Hasaacas say their survival in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) will depend on what happens at the Ohene Ameyaw Park at Techiman when they face Techiman City in a mid-week action which is also the penultimate match of this season’s fixtures.

With both sides neck-deep in the relegation web, Techiman City and Hasaacas need the maximum points to jump out of the web, but having been bad travellers this season, Coach Yusif Basigi admits his side’s fate will be determined by what happens at Techiman.

Last Sunday, Hasaacas tried to lift themselves with a 2-1 win over visiting WAFA, the same time Techiman City were also hammered 4-0 by Aduana Stars at Dormaa to leave their fate precariously hanging in the balance.

Charles Kwadwo Ntim, president of Techiman City has told Graphiconline that there was no way his side were going to drop points at home as they need the points badly to survive.

“Our game plan was to force a draw against Aduana, win our home game and then force another draw away to Chelsea in the final game. And having lost heavily against Aduana, there is even more desperation to win against Hasaacas,” Ntim, popularly referred to as Micky Charles admitted.

Admitting also to the fact that they have been bad travellers this season, Coach Basigi says his players will have to draw deep into themselves to get the desired result.

“We have been bad travellers this season, but we also handed ourselves a lifeline with the win against WAFA. Now, we have to fight hard to pick a point at Techiman then fight for the maximum points in the final game. But definitely our hope of survival hinges so much on what happens at Techiman on Wednesday.”
