Elmina Sea Lions dare LadyStrikers in Sanford Women’s FA Cup tie
Their bankrollers are friends, but there will no be time for friendly exchanges when LadyStrikers, owned by the president of Sanford World Clinics, Ghana, host Elmina Sea Lions, financed by Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom in the Round of 16 tie of the Sanford Women’s FA Cup at the Robert Mensah Stadium tomorrow.

The two sides played to a thrilling goalless draw game last week when they clashed in the National Women’s League (NWL), but with only one team guaranteed the chance to advance in the FA Cup competition, it will be a real tough game as both sides strive to win the trophy for the first time.
The two sides have seen great improvement this season and are seriously pushing for the NWL title this season in the southern zone. While Sea Lions lead the log, LadyStrikers are third and may use this FA Cup match to show just how serious they are about winning a double this season.
While the result may not be known, one thing is certain though, that Dr Taylor and Dr Nduom will both be at the stadium to cheer their side to victory just as they have attended most of their home games this season.
This game is one of the many interesting match-ups this round of 16 tie has lined up, though on paper, it looks like an easy path for the defending champions, Police Ladies and NWL champions, Ampem Darkoa.
Police Ladies face NWL newcomers, Holy Royals at the MATS Park, Teshie on Sunday, and despite the fact that the Bakase-based Holy Royals team are in the league, they could upset Police if they take them for granted, as they are keen on bouncing back.
Ampem Darkoa look poised to retain their NWL form when they host Lepo Ladies at the Ohene Ameyaw Park on Sunday, as they strive to maintain their season double campign. It will be a tough game for Lepo who never beaten Ampem Darkoa particularly, at their favourite Ohene Ameyaw Park and cheered on by their vociferous home fans,.
The other matches in the southern zone look equally dicey with Immigration Ladies, semi-finalists in the maiden edition, up against a rejuvenated Samaria Ladies side at the Carl Reindorf Park tomorrow, while two regional league clubs, Faith Ladies and Army Ladies also slug it out for a place to the quarter-finals.
In the northern zone, the match between Prisons Ladies and Northern Ladies at the Sunyani Coronation Park tomorrow as well as Real Upper Ladies game against Ashtown Ladies are the topliners, given the outcome of their NWL clashes this season.
Afia Kobi Ampem Ladies look the favourites as they host Bolga Sharp Arrows at the Kumasi Girls High School Park tomorrow in the northern zone.
