Eastern Region receives MTN FA Cup trophy

Chiefs in the Eastern Region have charged technical handlers and players of Okwawu United to focus on winning the MTN FA Cup final which comes off on Sunday at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The chiefs made the call when members of the FA Cup committee embarked on a trophy tour of the region last Saturday at the Asakraka Palace at Nkawkaw.

Speaking at the event, Nana Afari Yeboah Gyan II said “we are hopeful that the trop[hy will be ours.We are excited with this trophy tour and we thank the GFA and MTN for this opportunity”. 

Nana Mireku Nyampong also tasked all persons associated  with the team to put their differences behind and help the club to realise its dream of winning the title.

“We are hopeful that the trophy before us will be back here on Sunday”, he said.

At Abene, the Okwawuhema Nana Adwoa Gyamfuwaa, also added her voice to the calls and advised the players of the team to live up to their accolade of 'Asase Aban,  Yente Gyae' when they meet Bechem United at Cape Coast in the final on Sunday.

The trophy will be placed at the MTN head office at Ridge today for public viewing and phot session.
