Bonuses galore as Okwawu, Bechem gear up for MTN/FA Cup final

Followers of the two finalists of this year’s MTN/FA Cup final, Bechem United and Okwawu United, are making some mouthwatering promises, including monetery and trips abroad, to motivate their teams to deliver the ultimate.

Last week, management of Bechem United announced a GH¢5000 bonus for each player, together with a trip abroad if the club win the FA Cup title.

Their opponents, Okwawu, have been promised a double or more of the GH¢2,000 they were each gifted by the Abetifi North MP after they hammered Liberty Professionals 3-2 on penalties to reach the final.

In the midst of the delightful promises, head coach of Okwawu United Ibrahim Merigah says his side have  stepped up their training  to toughen  the players.

“This trophy will surely come back to Nkawkaw.  This is because I don’t think Bechem United can stand the pressure we will mount against them.

We won this competition in 1986 so we are just going to repeat history,” Coach Merigah told the Daily Graphic in a telephone conversation.

Meanwhile, the organisers of the competition returned to Accra last Sunday after a two-day trophy tour of the Eastern and Brong Ahafo regions, the home region of the two finalists, where chiefs and supporters of the two teams expressed confidence to win the ultimate.
