The extent of her injury, as well as her fate in the rest of Ghana's campaign in this Africa Women's Championship (AWC) will be known after undergoing a MRI scan today.

Adobea picked up an injury in the game against Nigeria but managed to complete play and had not been able to train since.

Dr Mabel Aboah confirmed the injury to the Daily Graphic but said the medical team wanted to have a good assessment of the injury before taking a decision.

"At the moment, Adobea is not fit to play the next game. She sustained an injury in the right hip and it is important we know exactly what it is so we are going to do a MRI. Once we know what it is, we can pick it up from there.

"But definitely, she is out of the game against Mali. If the MRI proves there is nothing to be worried about, she will still have to rest for a few days to recover before resuming training," Dr Aboah explained.

With the confident and effective Adobea set to miss the game, Coach Yussif Basigi will make a few changes to his defence by shifting Linda Eshun to the left, Regina Antwi to the right, while deploying Rosemary Ampem and Janet Egyir into central defence.

With four points from two games, the Queens need a draw against Mali to progress to the semi-finals, but Coach Basigi insists his game plan will be to go for a win against the Malians, who also need victory to top up their three points and advance.
