The two clubs, who qualified to the elite league from the Southern and Northern Zones respectively, are expected to give their counterparts a stiff competition as they seek to wrest the ultimate from the big clubs.

Other teams contesting in the Southern Zone are Hasaacas Ladies, Samaria Ladies, Police Ladies, Lady Strikers, Sea Lions Ladies, Immigration Ladies and Soccer Intellectuals, while the Southern Zone consists of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Lepo Ladies, Ashtown Ladies, Fabulous Ladies, Northern Ladies, Prisons Ladies and Real Upper Ladies.

The fifth edition of the National Women’s League was launched last Wednesdays at the Ghana Football Association in Accra with representatives of the various clubs expressing their determination to win the title.

This season’s league will be ushered in with a Super Cup match between defending League champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, and last season’s Sanford FA Cup winners, Police Ladies, at the Baba Yara Stadium at 1 p.m. tomorrow.

The match will be a curtain-raiser to the Asokwa Deportivo and AshantiGold 2016/2017 MTN FA Cup Round of 64 encounters.

Similar to that of last season, the winner of the League will receive GHC10,000, while the runner-up takes home GHc5,000.

Prior to the launch, the Women’s League Board held a stakeholders meeting to deliberate on various issues concerning the upcoming season.
