Make the nation proud — Chief Imam urges GameBoy

The national chief imam, Sheikh Dr Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, has implored world title hopeful, Emmanuel ‘Gameboy’ Tagoe, to make the nation proud and achieve the enviable feat of annexing Ghana’s first world title in over a decade.

He said the gods and Allah are on the side of the lightweight fighter in his crucial fight against Argentine Fernando David “El Vasco” Saucedo on November 25 at the newly-constructed Sports Emporium at Bukom in Accra.

The Imam made the remarks when he led prayers for Tagoe at his office in Accra when the Bukom-based boxer and his entourage called on him to brief him on the fight.

He called on Tagoe to be hopeful and never be afraid in the ring, saying that Allah is with him and so victory shall be his.

Tagoe, alias “Game Boy” (26-1, 13 KOs), was in the company of the management of BabyJet Promotions, led by the CEO, Samuel Anim-Addo, Randy Opoku-Afriyie and Nathaniel Laryea.

Anim-Addo told the Chief Imam that Tagoe was well prepared ahead of the task and would kayo the Argentine that fateful day.

He noted that everything had been done right to ensure a successful bout and charged Ghanaians to throw their weight behind the boxer.
