I’m still manager of Ashie – Teddy Moore

Abraham Reindorf, CEO Of Accra-based Reinsport Management, says he still manages top Ghanaian lightweight boxer, George Ashie, and has challenged anyone contesting that to bring documents to prove otherwise.

Reindorf, aka Teddy Moore, sealed a three-year management deal with the former Commonwealth lightweight champion back in January 2015 after a short signing-on ceremony at the Asia Gardens Restaurant in Dansoman, Accra.

But Classic Vision Sports Promotions and Management, led by Alhaji Zaid and Ahmed Apedo, alias Pasaasa, one-time managers of Ashie, have lodged a complaint with the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) seeking an annulment of any such deal because they still held the management rights of the boxer.

However, Reindorf refused to budge and challenged Classic Vision to produce the contractual agreement with the boxer which they failed to during an arbitration for the two parties sanctioned by the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA). That notwithstanding, Reindorf insisted that rumours were rife that Classic Vision still claimed ownership of the highly-rated Ashie (26-4-1, 19 KOs).

He also said he recently overheard another top boxing promoter in the country (name withheld) saying on Accra-based radio station, Radio Gold, that he had paid off both warring managers of Ashie and is now managing the boxer, hence his decision to set the records straight.

“I want to go on record and state categorically that I am still the manager of George Ashie and I’ve not signed him off to anyone else or received any money from anyone,” Reindorf said in a statement.

“I have a valid contract with the boxer and we are focused on taking his career to the next level, so anybody who says he is their boxer should bring their contract with the boxer and let’s see,” he stressed.

Teddy Moore added: “I challenge the GBA, Classic Vision and anyone who claims to have signed  on the boxer to go to court because I have a legal contract with him and no one can challenge that.”
