Gameboy unfazed by new date

IBO lightweight title contender, Emmanuel ‘Gameboy’ Tagoe, says the rescheduling of his fight against Fernando Saucedo would not stop him from beating his Argentine opponent at the Bukom Boxing Arena to become a world champion.

The much-anticipated fight originally scheduled for November 25, had to be postponed to December 2 at the last minute following an injury suffered by Fernando David “El Vasco’ Saucedo during training in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The promoters, BabyJet Promotions, who also manage Tagoe, were forced to revise their notes hurriedly while appealing to boxing fans to bear with them and still expect a good show at the new date.

The 29-year-old Tagoe (26-1, 13 kos) also maintained that he was well psyched up for the bout any day and at anytime, hence no change of date would psychologically affect him and his plans to kayo his opponent.

Samuel Anim-Addo, Chief Executive Officer of BabyJet Promotions, told the Graphic Sports that the organisers already had a Plan B in mind and so were unshaken when they received news of the Argentine’s injury.

He assured Ghanaians that they were ready to stage the fight on December 2.

He expressed gratitude to boxing fans for their patience and promised to give them a good entertainment package on the night.
