Tabanao, a Filipino, is in the country to challenge undefeated Dogboe for the WBC Youth World Featherweight Championship.

The bout, dubbed “Africa vs Asia,” is being promoted by Aborigines Beach Resort Promotions in collaboration with Rising Stars Africa Promotions.

According to a veteran boxing administrator and advisor to Dogbe, Yoofi Boham, the boxer would be taken to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) for a press conference on GTV Sports+ immediately after his arrival.

The press conference, which is scheduled at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, will address issues pertaining to the bout which will see the winner on the night claim all three belts, including the ones being held by both boxers and the one at stake.

Dogboe defended his title when he stopped Ugandan Edward Kakembo in round six of their scheduled bout at the Accra Sports Stadium in May this year, while Tabanao is coming into the fight after knocking out Australia’s Ibrahim Balla in round three to win the vacant WBO Oriental Featherweight title last month in Australia.

According to organisers of the bout, the rate for the VVIP stand has been reduced from GH¢1,000 to GH¢500, with the VIP stand reduced from GH¢500 to GH¢300 but the popular stand remains GH¢30.

The major sponsor of the bout is Engineers & Planners,  supported by Wilkado Royal Resort, Ganiva Batteries, Glass Brown Company, Needs Microfinance, Assurance Savings & Loans and 3 SIL & SPS.
