Dogboe for unification bout August 26

The WBC Youth World Featherweight Championship title has arrived in Accra from the United States as Ghana’s WBO Africa featherweight holder, Isaac Dogboe, faces Philipino WBO Oriental (OPBF) featherweight champion, Neil John Tabanao, for a unification bout on August 26.

The bout, dubbed “Africa vs Asia” and being promoted by the Aborigines Beach Resort Promotions in collaboration with Rising Stars Africa Promotions will be staged at the Police Officer’s Social and Fitness Centre in Accra.

According to veteran boxing administrator and advisor to Dogboe, Mr Yoofi Boham, the fight is set to be another historic moment for Ghana when Dogboe became the first Ghanaian to fight for the WBC Youth World featherweight Championship.

Dogbe goes into the fight after a round six knockout of Ugandan Edward Kakembo at the Accra Sports Stadium  in May this year while his opponent Tabanao stopped Australia’s Ibrahim Balla in round three to win the vacant WBO Oriental featherweight title last month in Australia.
