"This time, change your voting pattern and vote for the NDC to continue its good works for you," he urged the people of Kwahu.

According to the Vice-President, the Mahama-led government has been very fair to them in providing their share of the national cake, saying, “the  NDC is the only party that did not discriminate in distributing development projects fairly to all parts of the country.”

Mr Amissah-Arthur was addressing a rally at Nkawkaw last Thursday when he joined the parliamentary candidate for the constituency, Mr Tamimu Halidu, to launch his campaign.

The Vice-President posited that even though Kwahus were noted to always vote massively for the New Patriotic Party(NPP), the NDC-led administration did not look at that but had provided them unprecedented projects such as the Kwahu water project, the ongoing Abetifi government hospital and the construction of the Nkawkaw-Atibie road.

Mr Amissah-Arthur, who was on a three-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region which began last Wednesday and ended yesterday, explained that Kwahus were business persons who needed good roads, water and other amenities to enhance their businesses and it was the reason the government had resurfaced major roads to improve transportation of goods and services in the area.

The Eastern Regional Minister who doubles as parliamentary candidate for Abirem, Ms Mavis Ama Frimpong, said the NDC-led administration was the first to provide a huge government hospital which is under construction at Abetifi-Kwahu.

She said the government, in distributing the 200 community day senior high schools, allotted three to Fodoa and Afram Plains north and south, which are all in the Kwahu area.

Ms Ama Frimpong told the electorate that voting for the NDC on December 7 would mean provision of more development projects for the people of Kwahu.

The Eastern Regional Chairman of the NDC,  Mr Tawiah Boateng said the people of  Kwahu were indigenous CPP members and not supporters of the UP tradition, stressing they should, therefore, support that the NDC, since “the CPP is now part of the NDC.”

He also said since history, no party had developed Kwahu better than the NDC.
