The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia to be cautious not to mix governance with propaganda.

At a press conference led by the Deputy Minority Leader in Parliament, James Klutse Avedzi, the NDC said the Vice President should mind his utterances since he is now a Vice President.

“….. Dr. Bawumia (needs) to be mindful of the fact that he is no longer a running mate delivering propaganda lectures to partisan crowds for political effect and that he is now sworn in as the Vice President of our Republic,” said the NDC.

The NDC also accused the Vice President and the new administration of assuming some achievements of the previous John Mahama-led administration as their own, as contained in Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's list of over 100 achievements in the 100-days old the NPP government.

The Minority again questioned why after 100 days not even one of the government's promised factories and dams projects has commenced.

“Dr. Bawumia must be told in very clear terms that Ghanaians were expecting of him to explain why after 100 days there’s not a single dam or a single factory project that has commenced in any of the 216 Districts……”

Mr Avedzi also alleged that the Vice President has forced Multimedia Group to apologise following the refusal of the production team of Newsfile to permit what they termed as the New Patriotic Party’s “sub-standard” representation on their programme last Saturday.

They claimed Vice President Bawumia used the forum to announce the achievements of the government as an arm twisting tool to force an apology from the Multimedia Group after the production team of Joy FM's Newsfile programme refused two NPP members representation on the programme because they were termed as “sub-standard” for the last Saturday programme.

He said the conduct by the Vice President and the NPP does not advance the freedom and independence of the media.
