However. Mr Michael Opoku-Mensah, the regional director of the Electoral Commission (EC) insisted that those whose names were not captured in the list could not vote and would have to go to their original registration centres to exercise their franchise on December 7, 2016 when the general election exercise would take place.

In all, a total of 7,016 persons in the 26 constituencies in the region, are expected to vote in the special exercise, according to the EC Director.

Patronage was impressive as there were long winding queues at all the three polling stations (PS) in the Takoradi district of the (EC), namely the Police Canteen in the Takoradi constituency, St. Anthony of Padua at Kwesimintsim and the Christ the King Cathedral in the Effia constituency as well as at the Well Road polling station in Sekondi.

At the Police canteen, one security officer remarked that "The special voting exercise has not been fair to some of us," as he expressed his disappointment.

Out of the 656 total voters expected for the station, 40 had cast their ballot as at 7:50am when the Daily Graphic got there, according to the Presiding Officer (PO), Madam Afia Twumwaa Asante.

At the St Padua, the presiding officer indicated that 22 out of 222 total list, had voted as at 8:20 am when the Graphic visited while at the Well Road in Sekondi, 144 out of 833 had cast their ballet, according to Mr Isaac Opoku, the presiding officer at about 9:10 am.

Representatives of the two major parties, the NDC and NPP were present at those stations visited.
