President will steer country into prosperity - First Lady

The First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is a good leader who will steer the country into economic prosperity.

According to the First Lady, “Ghana needs a strong and focused leader who will advance the cause of the country”.

She said President Akufo-Addo was doing just that “in the driver’s seat and things are looking good for Ghana.”

Visit to China

Mrs Akufo-Addo was speaking to officials of the Ghana Embassy in the People’s Republic of China during her maiden official visit to the country.

The First Lady is in China with a group of women entrepreneurs, some members of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and academicians to explore investment opportunities for women businesses and investment for the people and the government of Ghana.

She said the President, “made a lot of promises and he is delivering all his promises,” and had so far achieved quite a lot.

Hope for Ghana

The First Lady said there was a lot of hope for Ghana and called on Ghanaians in China to endeavour to learn harder and bring their acquired knowledge back home to develop the country.

“There is a lot to learn from China and, therefore, those of you here should learn and bring the knowledge back home to improve the country”, she said.

She announced that through her Rebecca Foundation, the newly constructed Mother and Baby Unit at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi will be inaugurated hopefully in December.
