PPP, PNC partner in 12 constituencies for parliamentary election

As Ghana goes to the polls on December 7, the People's National Convention (PNC) and the Progressive People's Party (PPP) have agreed to support each other's parliamentary candidates in 12 constituencies.

In a statement signed by leaders of the two parties, members of the PNC are to campaign and support the PPP candidates in Wa East, Bongo, Wulensi, Tempane, Wa Central and Salaga North constituencies.

The PPP, on the other hand, will reciprocate this gesture in Nadowli/Kaleo, Sissala East, Builsa South, Bolga Central, Talensi and Walewale for their mutual benefit.

According to the statement, members and supporters of the PNC and the PPP have reached an agreement on a parliamentary coalition for the December 7, 2016 election.

The statement said, “Ghana needs the PPP and PNC members in Parliament to advocate the needed changes to the 1992 Constitution, ensure that the health, social welfare and employment needs of the majority of our people become priorities and affirm the multiparty nature of our democracy.”

The two parties,therefore, urge the people of Ghana who are valid voters to vote massively for the PPP and the PNC candidates on December 7, 2016.
