Some security personnel at the designated Police Canteen Polling Station (PS), in the Takoradi Constituency in the Western Region, could still not trace their names in the special voters' list while those whose names appeared together with their pictures and identification (ID) numbers were not allowed to vote.

Some of them vowed to invoke curses on the election officials, using their respective gods and deities if they were disenfranchised.

However, Mr Prince Achiempong, the Returning Officer, explained to Graphic Online that those eligible voters had different code numbers rather than that of the Takoradi Constituency, and that the law did not permit them to vote, except to go back to their original registration centres to cast their ballot on the actual D-day of national voting.

As at 8:50 am, when Graphic Online visited the station, only 15 had voted, according to the Presiding Officer, Madam Afia Twumwaa Serwaa.

Out of the total number 656 list at the PS, 422 had the chance to vote on December 1, however, the station had an additional list of 898 to deal with.

On the contrary, the situation at the Christ The King Cathedral PS in the Effia Constituency was different as there was no pressure at all.

At about 7:35 am when this reporter got to the PS, no one had appeared to vote, except two persons who came in later but could not find their names in the expected 132 list of voters plus an additional one.

The Returning Officer, Mr Clement Afranie indicated that all the party representatives were present to monitor the process.
