NPP launches manifesto today

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will today launch its manifesto at the Accra International Trade Fair Centre.

The event will be held at the forecourt of the Centre from 2pm and is expected to be under the chairmanship of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

The manifesto launch will be followed later by a major political rally, which will be opened to all supporters and members of the general public.

In attendance will be the Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and his running mate, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, A statement signed by acting General Secretary John Boadu also said the rally will be preceded by a stakeholder briefing of the manifesto to civil society and identifiable groups, embassies and diplomatic missions and political parties at the Unique Events Palace, Trade Fair Centre at 12pm prompt. 

The manifesto, which is based on the theme; Agenda for change, Jobs, Prosperity and Securing the Peace, contains the solutions that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the party propose to help fix the problems facing the country.

The youth-focused manifesto also includes details on how to resolve the unemployment problem among young Ghanaians.

Among other things, the 2016 manifesto launch of the NPP will also explain the “one district, one dam” election promise of the party.

Nana Akomea, the Communications Director of the NPP, said the manifesto would offer solutions to the myriad of problems facing sectors of the economy, and the document would address the issues of youth unemployment among other issues.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency Nana Akomea said the party had prepared very well for a mammoth rally at the forecourt of the Trade Fair Centre and made provisions for as many party faithful and sympathisers to attend the event.

The theme for the 2012 manifesto of the party was Transforming Lives, Transforming Ghana.
