NPP national rally underway (LIVE)

All is set for the national rally of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Trade Fair Site at La in Accra.

As early as 7am party faithful started arriving from all parts of the country dressed in party colours and holding different kinds of party paraphernalia.

As usual, food vendors and other traders have taken advantage of the programme to boost their business.

The fringes of the road stretching from the Palm Wine Junction to the La Palm Beach Hotel have been taken over by traders who are selling all kinds of wares from clothing to all varieties of food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as party paraphernalia.

At the time of filing this report, hundreds of people were still arriving and the main event is scheduled to start at 4pm when the NPP Presidential Candidate Nana Akufo Addo and his wife accompanied by former President former President John Agyekum Kufuor and other party bigwigs would arrive to formally address the mammoth gathering.

Although the party leaders are yet to arrive, the atmosphere is a very charged with loud music blasting from giant speakers situated within few meters of each other.
