“Today, my family will lodge a formal complaint against persons believed to be National Security Operatives for invading my home over missing government vehicles,” he disclosed.

The supposed security operatives allegedly besieged the home of the former Youth and Sports Minister, while he was away in the United Kingdom, to inspect his vehicles.

The former minister said it took the intervention of the police to send them away.

While expressing shock over the development, Mr Vandepuye denied being in possession of a state vehicle.

According to him, the only vehicles currently in the house, were ones he purchased from a public auction some four years ago and another; which is an official vehicle he used while serving as minister in the former government, but bought it before he left office.

He said he had documents to prove his ownership of the vehicles.

“Under whose instruction are they doing this?” he queried, adding that he contacted the Deputy Minister of the Interior, Mr Henry Quartey, who followed it up at the National Security and confirmed that the outfit was not aware of the said operations on Tuesday.

“I’ve asked my wife to get to the police station and make a formal complaint with the Police,” he said in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM.
