NDC masterminded troubles in NPP — John Boadu
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused President Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of being the masterminds behind the circumstances that led to the suspension of the party’s Chairman, Paul Afoko, and its General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong.

According to the party, the NDC had orchestrated a plot to cause division within the NPP with the intention of using it as a campaign message that the NPP was a divided party that should not be voted into power.
Addressing a press conference in Accra yesterday, the acting General Secretary of the party, Mr John Boadu, said the party had learnt of a plot by the government to unleash a band of national security operatives to harass the NPP and warned of possible bloodshed if that action was not halted.
Attacks on NPP
He said the President had already started the execution of the plot with his recent campaign speeches attacking the NPP.
He said “these attacks and the deliberate dragging of the party’s image in the mud has followed a clear pattern in the last year or so.”
The major worry of the party, he said, was that the plot was getting thicker and more deadly.
“We believe if we do not bring focus to this evil plot now, more lives would be lost and our democracy will be severely damaged,” he added.
National security ‘terrorists’
Mr Boadu appealed to national security operatives who he said were being used for “this evil” , in the name of “goodness”, to stop.
“National security personnel and others who have made it their industry to invest in the creation of confusion and sponsoring raids and physical attacks, we are saying to them, for goodness sake, please stop,” he pleaded.
He reminded the security operatives of their job to protect people and not to destroy or be used for evil purposes.
Divided nation
Mr Boadu also accused President Mahama of reducing the country to a one-party state with a set of rules for the NDC and another set for the majority of Ghanaians.
“After failing to portray the NPP as divided, President Mahama has succeeded in dividing Ghana. Under Mahama, as a leader of both NDC and Ghana, we now have one law for NDC and another law for majority of Ghanaians,” he said.
He said three men who fronted the campaign to visit death and rape on Supreme Court judges have had their prison terms commuted by the President.
“Under President Mahama, we now have two Ghanas. One Ghana for the NDC and another Ghana for the rest of the country.”
