Namoale optimistic of retaining La Dadekotopon seat
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the La Dadekotopon Constituency, Nii Amasah Namoale, has expressed strong optimism that he will retain his seat without difficulty as he targets a landslide victory ahead of the December 7, election.

At the launch of his campaign at La last Tuesday, the confident-looking Namoale said he was going to win the election with a margin of about 25,000 votes.
“We are aiming to maximise our votes in both the presidential and the parliamentary elections to ensure a landslide victory,” Nii Namoale said.
According to him, his constituency has had a facelift socially and economically, making reference to his educational fund, construction of drains, rehabilitation of health facilities and school blocks, as well as lobbying for the construction of some major roads and said his constituents would assess his stewardship and vote massively for him.
Ambulance promised
The incumbent MP has promised to donate an ambulance to the La General Hospital, should he emerge winner. That, he said, would help in the effective management of health care in the municipality.
Journey so far
Nii Amasah Namoale first joined Parliament in 2004 after staging a remarkable performance in the parliamentary election. He erased a 7,000 deficit and won by 8,000 votes to reclaim the La Dadekotopon seat for the NDC.
In 2008, he widened the margin significantly as he garnered 42,678 votes as against the NPP candidate’s 30,077 votes. He again earned a healthy margin of 16,000 votes difference in the 2012 election.
Nii Amasah Namoale said he was confident of widening the margin again by a 25,000 votes difference, come December 7.
Namoale suspended
The incumbent MP was suspended from the party on December 1, 2015, after a hearing by the Disciplinary Committee in line with the party’s constitution for making disparaging comments about some of the regional executive of the party after the parliamentary primary in his constituency.
He was, however, pardoned and cleared to contest the election after he apologised to the leadership of the party in the region on December 16, 2015, for the way and manner he conducted himself after the primary and assured the regional executive of his highest respect.
