KMA fails to elect PM even with incumbent standing alone 

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly failed to elect a Presiding Member for the fifth time despite the Assembly member for Suame, Nana Kofi Senya standing alone.

Nana Senya and the Adumhene, Nana Baffour Agyei Kesse who is a government appointee have contested for the past four times but none was able secure the two third majority.

At Tuesday's meeting the Adumhene stepped down for Nana Senya but members had to still vote 'YES' or 'NO' to either confirm him or not. 

Nana Kesse explained he was stepping down in the interest of peace and to ensure development in Kumasi which has been stalled for almost a year. 

During the voting those who wanted Nana Senya or the YES vote was 62 while No was 65 with one ballot rejected.

Nana Senyneeded to secure the needed 98 votes to become the PM.
