Keep Ghana on top of Africa’s most peaceful nations — Rev. Darku
Ghanaians have been urged to let the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections entrench Ghana’s position on the top of the league of Africa’s most peaceful countries.

“Ghana’s democratic credentials, as one of the very few African countries with peaceful transitions from one democratically elected government to another, beginning from 1992, are known everywhere. This peace has engendered physical development, including a thriving hospitality industry, to the extent that today, wedding couples from other West African countries prefer to spend their honeymoon in Ghana which they consider a paradise. We must be proud of this,” the Executive Director of Africa for Christ for All Nations Evangelistic Ministry (CFAN), Reverend John Kwesi Darku, has said.
Peace Crusade
Rev. Darku made the call while addressing a stakeholder meeting of the Christian community in Sunyani last Saturday ahead of the Brong Ahafo Greater Peace Crusade.
The crusade, which will be held from December 3 to December 6, 2016, is being organised by the CFAN in partnership with the Christian community in the region.
It will be held at the SSNIT Grounds, Baakoniaba, Sunyani with Evangelist Daniel Kolenda, the successor to Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, the retired CFAN founder, as the main speaker.
God chooses
“It is God who chooses leaders. When biblical Israel asked God for a king, He did not refuse them. This means that it is in the will of God that nations should have governments and rulers. For us as Ghanaians, what this means is that to cast one’s vote in an election is to do the will of God.
“How can you be in the will of God, if you do not exercise your franchise by going out there to vote? Your voting activates the will of God, enabling him to use elected leadership to carry out the plans he has for Ghana’s progress,’’ Rev. Darku asserted.
While assuring the people of Brong Ahafo that God will move mightily at the crusade to bring about salvation of souls, healing for diseased bodies and deliverance to people who are spiritually bound, he said the crusade was meant to pray for the peace of Ghana.
That, he added, was why on each night of the crusade, heads of churches in the region would take turns to lead in intercessory prayers for the nation’s peace and God’s protection.
The National President of Aglow International, Mrs Dorothy Danso, used the platform to appeal to women in the region to not only turn out in their numbers to pray for Ghana, but also to invite friends and relatives to the crusade.
“Everybody knows us. Through us, the women, Jesus came to the world to save sinners; through us, the women, solid families are being built across the world. Let us use our God-given influence to bring people to the saving knowledge of God at this Brong Ahafo crusade. Let our families, our colleagues in the office and at the market come to know Jesus Christ,” she said.
