"Direct interaction will promote peace at flash points" - Ghana Youth Network for Peaceful Election
A peace advocacy group has adopted a workable strategy which appears to be paying off at some flash points in the country, drumming home the message of peace at various lorry parks ahead of the December 7 general election.

The Ghanaian Youth Network for Peaceful Election (GYNPE) had direct interaction with the youth at known flash points in Accra especially at Kaneshie and Dome after holding a durbar at the markets of the two towns.
Led by the president of GYNPE, Michael Boateng Ofori, the group mainly students from the country’s main universities told the youth that without peace it would be impossible for them to realise their dreams in life.
After more than two hours of engagement, the noisy market women, trotro drivers and taxi drivers, some of whom had earlier kicked against the campaign, appeared to have been hit by the message as they appealed to be part of the campaign to preach peace.
They vowed to chase out politicians who may attempt to lure them to indulge in acts that could engender the peace in Ghana.
‘No matter how tempting the offer is, we will try and resist them,’ Kwesi Bright, a Dome taxi driver said after the exercise.
GYNPE which has launched a campaign against violence and acts that could derail the peace in Ghana, has early on urged party loyalists and politicians to be guarded by vile propaganda and reckless statements.
Mr Ofori told the Daily Graphic that the group intended to tour the entire country and help lower political tension before the election.
