Carlos Ahenkorah beats Naa Torshie to win NPP parliamentary primary in Tema West constituency

Carlos Ahenkorah has beaten incumbent Naa Torshie to win the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary ticket in the Tema West constituency.

Carlos polled 502 votes to eclipse Naa Torshie, who garnered 273 votes.
The third candidate, Adwoa Amoako, managed two votes.
A total 777 people of 811 eligible delegates voted.
After the bitterly-contested election, a leading member of the NPP, Mr K.T. Hammond, urged Mr Ahenkorah and Ms Torshie to unite for victory in 2016.
