Awutu Senya West NPP awards scholarships
The 2016 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Awutu Senya West Constituency in the Central Region, Nenyi George Andah, has awarded scholarships to 45 students at Senya Beraku to pursue higher education at the senior high school (SHS) level.

It is dubbed ‘Change4power2domore Education Endowment Fund’, and it includes tuition and boarding for each of the beneficiary students. It was undertaken by Nenyi Andah in partnership with the Founder and Head of Ideal College, Dr Joseph Kobina Essibu.
In all, about 300 students who had just passed their Basic Education Certificate Education (BECE) participated in the selection process, out of which the 45 attained the required marks to benefit from the scholarship.
Brief ceremony
At a brief ceremony to present scholarship letters to the beneficiaries last Saturday, Nenyi Andah reaffirmed the policy initiative announced by the NPP flag bearer to provide free senior high school education for all students in the country.
According to him, the initiative formed part of his strong campaign to give back to the community, mobilise and empower the youth, as well as demonstrate to the constituents the promise made by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to make SHS education free when voted into power on December 7.
He, therefore, urged his constituents to vote massively for Nana Addo and himself on December 7 for the policy to become a reality.
He noted that Senya Beraku had produced some of the great minds, which included the Andahs, Arkaahs, Essekus, Essibu’s, Osekus, Jacksons and Acheampongs, who had made significant contributions to the fields of mathematics, banking, business, education, engineering, law and politics.
He added that it was their turn to help put the town back on the map of success and greatness in the country.
The parliamentary candidate further stated, ‘I have always believed that Senya Beraku and the entire constituency are endowed with brilliant pupils whose potential could be harnessed, and that giving them the opportunity to further their education will certainly inure to the benefit of the constituency.’
